Last evening something scary happened, our site got overloaded !!! A quick look at the logs showed that the great guys at LetThereBePorn.com had plugged us. It was a wonderful experience, to get a lot of visitors on the site. I dont even know if his name is John, but he runs this site JOHNDX. A few days back, I saw his post on one of the popular webmaster forums, asking everyone to submit their best galleries. My site being so young and small, I had no hope of being plugged. But since it doesnt cost money to put my URLs in the thread, I did and the next thing I know, my site is getting traffic from his JOHNDX Blog. And, we are talking about a fair bit of traffic here. Encouraged by this stroke of luck, I send him a PM requesting a hardlink and forget about it (of course I am not expecting him to reply). When I do see a reply from, the first thing that I expect to be asked/told is tht my Alexa and PR are both pathetic and that he cant consider my request. But John seems to be a man determined to surprise others and be nice (and thus Dumb, as many other webmasters would like to believe). Its been a while since I responded to his PM and still cant believe that people like him exist in this world where others either expect to be "known", "good rank at alexa", "good PR" or "money". So, isnt John different ?!? -- Punter.
